Our client, an ever-expanding multinational, are searching for a Head of Accounting to join & lead their Geneva team.
Head of Accounting, Geneva, Switzerland
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will have a high-level exposure to the senior management of the business.

Preparation of the consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Swiss GAAP.
Management of 8 direct reports including Consolidation & Accounting Managers.
Lead training sessions and performance reviews to develop team members.
Constantly refresh knowledge on IFRS standards and regulations, and update accounting manuals and policies to reflect this.
Develop close working relationships with the wider finance function (e.g. controlling, tax)
Responsible for the monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
Liaison with internal and external auditors.
Involvement in ad-hoc projects including systems upgrades, process improvements and dashboard creation.
Key competencies & soft skills:
Full fluency in English and French a must.
Bachelors/Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
CPA / ACCA or equivalent a benefit.
Big 4 experience is a plus, but not compulsory.
Strong communication and influencing skills.
Ability to build relationships with finance & non-finance, internal & external stakeholders.
Prior experience of hiring, managing, and developing team members.
A Swiss passport/permit or EU passport is mandatory for this role.

As well as working in an international environment to deliver the highest standards of accounting, this position sits in a streamlined team. This means direct access to the CFO, and input into strategic decisions.

The main duties of the German and French-Speaking Accountant role are:
Supporting the head of accounting on a daily basis
Reconciliations, treasury transactions (including bank management), AP, AR
Reporting, respecting internal controls
Deputising for the head of accounting
Manage the relationship with external partners, including credit facility management
Improve systems and processes
Analysis, monthly reporting, KPIs
Supporting internal and external audit
The main skills required are:
University degree in finance and accounting (Brevet preferred)
Strong exposure to accounting in a professional environment
English, French, German languages
SAP and SAP BI (or Oracle BI), Excel
Open, flexible mindset, with the ability to work in a multicultural workplace

Our client is an international business in the life sciences sector who are expanding and are looking for a Junior Accountant to join their team for a 5-month contract.
Junior Accountant (French and English speaking), Geneva, Switzerland, 5-month contract, 50-80%
This exciting opportunity involves providing support for all accounting transactions on a daily basis and controlling the expenses. The position reports to the Chief Accountant.
The responsibilities will include:
Managing unpaid invoices and supplier reminders
Checking and processing invoices and expense reports
Analysing the variances between invoices and purchase orders
Verifying the accuracy of payments made to suppliers
Archiving and filling accounting reports
Working with other departments and suppliers
Degree in Finance or Federal Certificate of Competence in Commercial Business (CFC - employé de commerce) or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting
Fluency in French and English
MS Office (good Excel skills) are required
Good knowledge of SAP Business One or Abacus
