Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Buyer to join their team in Zug on a fixed term contract. Providing support across all procurement streams the role will require a proactive focus with the requirement to deliver new contracts and ensure the operational delivery of procurement projects are completed.

Working closely with the head of indirect procurement you will ensure that regulations within procurement and tender processes are met whilst also carrying out risk assessments to identify uncertainties within the scope. You will contribute to the supplier development program by adding value and taking a long-term view on all operational and strategic procurement topics whilst ensuring that internal stakeholders are fully supported in the administration of contracts.


The Senior Buyer will be responsible for purchasing, negotiating with suppliers and producers as well as implementing sustainable practices of quality checks for all suppliers to the business unit. We are seeking an individual that is ideally immediately available who can hit the ground running and adapt to a procurement function that is developing quickly and needs to ensure that processes are conducted not only efficiently but also in line with the relevant compliance and governing controls.


For the Senior Buyer we are looking for a high calibre candidate with the following skill sets:

  • Circa 3+ years working experience in a purchasing or sourcing environment
  • Experienced in buying in the manufacturing, automotive, oil and gas or construction sector
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to engage and interact with the wider business units
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office packages, plus a strong knowledge of SAP or other related systems
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Ability to travel on average 5-10%
