Job Description

Our client, a prominent player in the Consumer Goods sector, is currently searching for a Head of Global Customs to join their Supply Chain function in Zurich. As a customs expert, you will be responsible for leading Trade Affairs, Import and Export, and Customs management across various regions, including Europe, the US and China.

As Head of Global Customs, you will ensure that Customs regulations are being met within the Supply Chain operations, and that of warehousing, logistics and trade. Knowledge of trade agreements and the regulations associated with Customs is a must have, and you will ensure that both local and regional entities of the business are compliant with Trade laws.


Reporting into the VP of Logistics and Supply Chain, you will be competent at displaying strong communication skills, the ability to influence and interact with both senior management, but also local operational Supply Chain heads, as well as being the primary point of contact for foreign trade matters. A continuous improvement mindset is essential, and you will often lead projects focussed on the improvement of Supply Chain, Logistics and Transport functions, in line with business processes and the company’s centre of excellence body, which is located in Zurich.


Having previously operated in a Customs, Trade or Import/Export role, we are looking for a Head of Global Customs who has the following skillsets and subject matter expertise in:

  • Customs and Free Trade Agreements
  • Educated to degree or equivalent level
  • Supply Chain and Logistics Services knowledge with a customer service mindset
  • Project Management (A Project Management certification and experience of leading various projects would be desirable)
  • SAP and versions of, including ideally SAP S4 Hana
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Customs, Logistics or Supply Chain related roles, with exposure to the Retail sector an advantage
  • Fluent in English, proficiency in another European language would be an advantage
  • Ability to travel and work across multiple site locations in central Europe
