Job Description

For one of our growing international clients in the chemicals/industrial sector, we are seeking a Senior GL Accountant to assist for 12 months in a busy period with potential project involvement. The environment is energetic, and there could be potential for conversion into a permanent position.

Immediately Available Senior GL Accountant – 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract, Vaud, Switzerland

The main duties and responsibilities of the Senior GL Accountant are:

• Closing statutory (CH, FR) and consolidated (US GAAP) for 3 legal entities autonomously
• Journal entry preparation for inventory valuation and revenue recognition
• GL maintenance
• Reconciliation – financial statements, accounts
• VAT contract review and definition
• Point of contact for the internal/external auditors
• Balance sheet and P & L statement management
• Financial health and liquidity reports
• Conducting data back-ups and reinforcement of data back-ups
• Ensuring compliance with GAAP

The skills required for this role are:

• English and French languages
• Strong accounting background in an international organisation
• In-depth understanding of Swiss GAAP, US GAAP (preferred) or IFRS
• IT skills – accounting system and Excel are both essential
• Excellent knowledge of Tax procedures (VAT, CIT)
• Audit background a benefit
• Good communication and problem-solving ability
• Master’s in Finance, Accounting or Business
• Accounting qualification a benefit
