Job Description

We are currently working with a rapidly expanding medical devices business who are looking for an experienced International Buyer and Stock Planner to join their fast-paced Global Operations team in Amsterdam.

Our US based client is looking for an International Buyer and Stock Planner to work autonomously from their Netherlands site as they embark upon a period of global growth. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ of experience in a Demand Planning role and will have demonstrable proficiency in statistics and forecasting with a strong understanding of their financial and operational impacts.

Reporting into the Manufacturing Operations department, as International Buyer and Stock Planner, you will be providing support to global logistics partners, internal customers and employees. This is a highly visible position that interacts with all levels across the company.


Responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing and managing international logistics, warehouse, and transportation services.
  • Liaising and negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers.
  • Keeping track of quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
  • Reviewing and analyzing historical sales trends and research demand drivers, and preparing forecast data, developing statistical forecast models and evaluating forecast results.
  • Utilizing a collaborative approach by working with Sales, Marketing and Customer Finance in order to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts and inventory stocking locations.
  • Providing input to the supply-planning organization in order to develop inventory strategies on existing items, new products and product phase-outs.
  • Working with stakeholders to build and implement a sku-level forecast for parts and accessories to support key product platforms.
  • Working with product suppliers to convert forecast into a production plan that supports business needs.
  • Collaborating with the purchasing team to ensure raw material plans align with business needs.
  • Developing reporting tools to monitor supplier performance against plan and order backlog status.


Our client is looking for a self-motivated candidate with excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills. SAP ERP experience and the capability to create and analyze spread sheets will be highly advantageous in this role. Due to the nature of the role, you will need to be fluent in English.
