Senior General Ledger Accountant
EMEA recruitment is offering the opportunity to join the finance department of a leading medical instruments company in the Geneva region. You will be working in the EMEA Headquarters, an office that is growing with more and more work being centralised in the HQ from regional offices.
Our client is looking to employ a Senior General Ledger Accountant from outside the business, able to start as soon as possible.
You would be responsible for the General Ledger accounting of an operating entity with the following main tasks :
• Perform various general accounting processes for our operating subsidiary in the region
• Reconcile asset and liability accounts
• Follow-up on intercompany accounts
• Calculate prepaid expenses and accruals
• Handle various activities surrounding the monthly closing
• Prepare various reports and financial statements for the U.S. headquarters
• Maintain the database for the fixed asset system
• Standard cost coordination including but not limited to proper run of the standard cost roll, mark-up calculation, and monthly verification of standard cost
• Overall audits support, including Quality, Sox, operational, financial
• Also, the position will require preparation and completion of cross boarder VAT returns, so this experience would be a plus
• Participate in cross functional project not limited to finance
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Commercial background studies in accounting
• 3-6 years of professional experience within an accounting environment
• Fluent in English. Knowledge of any other European language would be an asset
• Excellent computer skills, especially Excel
• Knowledge of Oracle GL is a plus
• Knowledge of US GAAP and basic understanding of Sox
• Be able to work in a team, but also independently
• Self-motivated, good communication skills and problem solver
